Dies behauptet das Damen-Quartett Galore aus Los Angeles über sich selbst, und tatsächlich lässt sich spüren, wie der Spaß in jeder Pore seines DIY-Pop steckt. Der zweite Galore-Longplayer „Dirt“ erfreut mit mehrstimmigen Gesangsharmonien und der Vielseitigkeit von vier Songwriterinnen. «Silly Season», damit ist im Englischen das Sommerloch gemeint, wenn die Zeitungen aus Materialmangel seltsame Geschichten drucken. Sowas gibt es bei Golden Glades natürlich nicht. Zwar erscheinen dieser Tage verhältnismäßig wenige Platten, aber allerhand Vorabtracks kündigen bereits weitergehende Aktivitäten im Spätsommer an. Mit dabei: Way Dynamic, Galore und Cass McCombs.

Start Over

Es geht wieder los. Start Over lautet das Motto dieser Ausgabe, denn es ist die erste im Jahr 2023. Zugleich heißt auch die tolle neue Single von David Brewis so. Mit seinem Bruder betreibt Brewis üblicherweise die Band Field Music. Nun haben sie gemeinsam das Label Daylight Saving Records gegründet, wo im Februar das Solo-Debüt «The Soft Struggles» erscheinen wird. Starten wir also mit dem Vorab-Song «Start Over» und schauen dann, wohin es uns in diesem Jahr noch führt.
