Heute widmen wir uns einer besonderen Spezies Musikschaffender: den Alleinunterhaltern. Bei ihnen liegen für gewöhnlich sämtliche Produktionsschritte in einer Hand, vom Songwriting über die Instrumentierung und Produktion bis hin zum Coverdesign. Mitunter erstaunlich, wie die einzelne Person es hinbekommt, einen tadellos kompakten Bandsound zu kreieren – und das nicht erst, seit Computerprogramme das Aufnehmen von Musik in den heimischen vier Wänden erleichtern.

Wieso wurde die Popmusik nicht schon längst begraben? Weshalb enden manche Songs als Ohrwurm, auch wenn man sie gar nicht leiden kann? Warum gibt es keine wasserdichte Pop-Formel mit Hitgarantie? Happy Sadness

Listen carefully with your headphones on, and it’s easy to get lost in these tracks. Happy Sadness knows pretty well how to create contemplative moments with his floating textures and warm compositions. Sometimes it’s like a soothing soundtrack that tells stories without words. But as well we have a few songwriter-based tracks where Jason Andrew Brown (multimedia artist and the man behind Happy Sadness) gets very close to you with his voice. In these tracks he shows his real quality as a versatile musician.

Wer kann sich noch daran erinnern, an den Glücksmoment der guten alten Wundertüte? Aber nein, die gerollte rauschhafte Mischung ist damit nicht gemeint, sondern die verschlossenen bunten Päckchen für Kinder, in denen sich nebst Süßigkeiten noch einige Überraschungen befinden. In der Ungewissheit steckt das eigentliche Erfolgsgeheimnis, denn zunächst einmal wird mit der Wundertüte die Neugierde geweckt.
