Golden Glades – Typ C

Forscher der Universität Cambridge wollen herausgefunden haben, dass es einen Zusammenhang zwischen den Musikvorlieben und der Persönlichkeit eines Menschen gibt. Demnach lassen sich drei Typen unterscheiden: Gefühlsmenschen, die romantische Musik bevorzugen (Typ A); Systemiker, die es in der Musik gern intensiv und verschachtelt haben (Typ B); zuletzt die Ausgewogenen, die die Extreme meiden und auch musikalisch nach Balance trachten (Typ C). Sandra Zettpunkt wusste das alles schon vorher und bringt in der heutigen Golden Glades-Ausgabe ein gut austariertes Programm für Typ C: Mellow Tunes und Avant-pop, Rock und Elektronica.

Pop Does Not Mean Popular – so heißt eine Retrospektive des amerikanischen lo-fi Künstlers Hussalonia, die in der heutigen Golden Glades-Ausgabe eingehend vorgestellt wird. Der Titel ist zugleich so etwas wie das Grundprinzip dieser Sendung, die alle zwei Wochen aufs Neue erklärt, dass Popmusik nicht immer auch populäre Musik ist. So stehen auch heute wieder meisterhafte Popexperten auf dem Programm, die ihrer Entdeckung für den großen Markt harren – oder aber an dieser Entdeckung gar kein Interesse haben, darunter Stephen Steinbrink, Roar, Lowpines u.v.a.

Lost In A Song

Heute geht es bei Golden Glades um das englische Wort „lost“ und seine Doppelbedeutung. Da wäre zum einen das Motiv des sich Verlierens in der Musik; spätestens mit dem Jazzklassiker „Let’s get Lost“ wurde der rauschhafte Zustand zum Lebensmotto zahlreicher Musikgrößen. Zum Anderen kommt in der heutigen Musikauswahl der Verlust zur Sprache, es werden Dinge, Personen oder Gefühle besungen, die nicht mehr da sind. Nicht behandelt wird dagegen der sehr seltene Imperativ, mit dem ein Losverkäufer seine Kunden anfeuert.

Aus erster Hand

Geheimtips aus erster Hand sind das Grundprinzip dieser Sendung. In der heutigen Ausgabe geht es aber um Geschichten aus erster Hand: Der gleichnamige Song von Klaus Johann Grobe spricht ein zentrales Thema an, denn der Songschreiber ist doch im klassischen Sinne ein Geschichtenerzähler. Einer, der sich selbst und seine Umwelt genau beobachtet und daraus Material gewinnt. Natürlich gibt es Ausnahmen, aber es überwiegt doch die Figur des Ich-Erzählers, der vorgibt, eine authentische Geschichte vorzutragen. In diesem Sinne: Ohren auf, hier gibt es Vertraulichkeiten zu hören!

Doppelleben

„Doppelleben“, so heißt das neue, aufschlussreiche Buch von Jörg Heiser. Der Kunstkritiker, Musiker und Hochschuldozent beleuchtet darin die Verknüpfung von Kunst und Popmusik. Ihren Anfang nimmt die Geschichte Mitte der 1960er Jahre in New York, als Andy Warhol durch seine Kooperation mit The Velvet Underground in die Musikwelt vorrückt. Heute ist die Verknüpfung von Kunst und Popmusik laut Heiser längst nicht mehr subversiv. Und dass eine Band wie Kraftwerk ihre Museumskonzerte als Ausstellung tituliert, ist ihm suspekt.

Um diese und weitere Aspekte aus dem „Doppelleben“ geht es heute bei Golden Glades. Ergänzt wird die Sendung durch ein Interview mit Stephen Prina sowie Klangmaterial von MusikerInnen und Bands, die aus eigener Erfahrung wissen, wie eine Kunsthochschule von Innen aussieht.
