Mit «Pleasure Line» führt uns das Duo Video Age zurück in die frühen 1980er Jahre. Geradezu tabulos werden entsprechende Sounds aufgefahren. Ein zuckersüßer Nostalgie-Trip gegen den Zynismus unserer Zeit. Gelegentlich driftet die harmonisch-geschmeidige Mischung in Richtung Prince ab, um mit der nächsten Wendung pazifischen Yacht Rock ins System zu lassen.

Das Eighties-Revival schimmert auch bei Exploding Flowers heftig durch, allerdings auf ganz andere Weise: Der Sound auf «Stumbling Blocks» findet zwischen Paisley Underground, C86 und Kiwi Pop zu einer eigenen, geschmackvollen Form. Ganze neun Jahre hat sich das Kollektiv aus Los Angeles um Songwriter Sharif Dumani für dieses Werk Zeit gelassen.

Ebenfalls mit neuer Musik in der Pleasure Line: Martha Ffion aus Glasgow, Carsten & Carsten aus Hamburg und Quiet Island aus Genf.
