Musik rund ums Jahr

Wie immer zwischen den Jahren präsentiert Golden Glades Musikstücke, die im Zyklus der Jahreszeiten stehen. Ein Lied zu jedem Monat und zu jeder Jahreszeit: von „The Cold Swedish Winter“ ist u.a. die Rede (Jens Lekman), dem zarten Frühlingserwachen „Little Green“ (Joni Mitchell) und von der eher unbequemen „September Lady“ (Felt). Ein zeitlicher Rundumschlag also, bevor es zurück in die ewig chronologische Mühle geht.

Love & Other Hopeless Things, so heißt das neue Langspielwerk von David Scott und seinen The Pearlfishers. Immer dem meisterhaften Popsong auf der Spur, vermittelt der Schotte (übrigens auch als Uni-Dozent), wie raumgreifende Arrangements ihre beste Wirkung entfalten. Samt herzerweichender Melodien entsteht klassischer Schönklang für die Ewigkeit. Darüber hinaus hören wir noch andere feine Beispiele, in denen die Liebe und andere hoffnungslose Dinge das Thema geben: der musikalische Briefwechsel von Jens Lekman wird dabei ebenso vorkommen wie die neuen Veröffentlichungen von Versus, Cate Le Bon und The Divine Comedy.

Golden Glades sendet in kaleidoskopischer Manier: Auf Grundlage konstanter musikalischer Mittel bilden sich immer wieder neue Klangformationen. Das Bild legt nahe, dass der eine oder andere Song der heutigen Ausgabe in Richtung Psychedelic Pop geht, aber auch die bunt schillernde Albernheit hat ihren Auftritt.
